Carnegie Wave Energy were a new player in the Perth market – with world-class scientists and engineers equipped with technologies to develop innovative energy solutions. With little to no brand awareness in in the Perth market, they required a new identity to position them as a cutting-edge company with huge growth potential.
In the early days Carnegie was only known for its mineral sands division, which was no longer relevant. Carnegie Wave Energy needed to reposition themselves with a complete brand realignment in order to accurately reflect the current activities of the business.
After an extensive workshop with the Carnegie team, led by Managing Director and CEO Dr Michael Ottaviano, we worked with Carnegie to develop a brand identity and system that would demonstrate to the market their stake at the forefront, as a leader in wave energy technology development, not only locally but on a global platform.
Being wave energy technology, the resulting brand identity would encompass the fluidity and motion of water, and likewise be reflected in a colour palette of aqua blues and greens.
Carnegie Wave Energy has gone from success to success, going on to list publicly, and subsequently rebranded to Carnegie Clean Energy to encompass their growth as the only company in the world to offer a combination of wave, solar, battery storage and desalination via microgrids.
