I suppose I inherited Luminosity from my predecessor, but it quickly became apparent that I would enjoy working with them on a long term basis. The most compelling thing that I’ve discovered about Luminosity is that they care as much about my projects as I do. They listen to me more than other designers I’ve worked with, and I feel that my input is encouraged, embraced and appreciated. I like their honesty, they’re prepared to tell me if there’s a better solution than the one I’ve suggested, and I appreciate that. They understand the environment in which I work.
I like the same personal feel of the office. I don’t want some flashy, body-pierced, gum-chewing kid being my “account manager” or “design manager”, not listening or understanding our product’s requirements. I don’t want some off-the-shelf brand image that they couldn’t get rid of before. Luminosity gives you a feeling of confidence in their ability to listen, understand and deliver on every level.
And I’ve experienced something else quite different about Luminosity - they actually care in a way that’s not really about making money, it’s more about quality solutions that work for me. I like how they don’t try and foist solutions on me that are ultimately designed to make them more money. Their way of doing business has resulted in our continued business for some 9 years and my constant recommendation of Luminosity to others.
As much of a cliche as it might be, the great thing about Luminosity is the people. Brad and Juliet have become more like business partners rather than just business associates, which is important. Nicole is fabulous - absolutely nothing is a problem. Turnaround times are great, and they chase me up when I don’t get things done on time! They respond to my urgent requests without batting an eyelid! Nothing is a problem, which believe me means a lot when you are working to deadlines all the time.
Then, of course, there’s Buddy (their cute dog) visiting on Thursdays.
